COOKIE POLICY
What this site stores in your browser.
In short
This site uses a small number of cookies and similar browser storage. They keep the site working and remember the way you like it to look. One more thing, the office can also learn how visitors found us, but only if you accept cookies. Nothing that tracks how you found us runs before you accept, and it stays off if you decline. We do not sell your information and we do not use your visit to build an advertising profile about you.
What is a cookie
A cookie is a small piece of text a website asks your browser to keep. Some are kept on your device until you delete them, and some only last while your browser tab is open. This page lists everything we store, in plain language.
What we store
- hinckley-cookie-consent
- Kept on your device until you clear it
Remembers whether you accepted or declined non-essential cookies so this notice does not appear again on every visit.
- hinckley-a11y
- Kept on your device until you clear it
Remembers your accessibility choices (larger text, high contrast, underlined links, reduced animation) so the site looks the same the next time you open it.
- hinckley-preloader-seen
- Kept while your browser tab is open
Shows the short intro animation once per browsing session instead of on every page.
- hinckley_call_attribution
- Created only after you accept cookies, and kept while your browser tab is open
Records the page you arrived on and, if you came from a search or social ad, the campaign information in the web address. It is sent with a call so the office knows how you found us. It is never written if you decline, and it is not used to follow you around the web.
How caller source tracking works
When you tap a phone number on this site, the office can receive a short note with the call. It says which page you were on, whether you were on a phone, tablet or computer, and if you arrived from a search or social advert, the campaign details carried in the web address. That is all it does. It tells us which pages and which adverts bring people to the phone.
This tracking is switched off until you press Accept on the cookie notice. Here is what that means at each stage:
- Before you choose the site keeps no record of your visit. Nothing is written to your browser, and when you dial, your call simply connects.
- If you decline the tracking stays off for good. Calls work exactly the same, we just never learn how that visit found us.
- If you accept the site starts keeping the landing information for the rest of your visit, and sends the short call note each time you tap a number.
- If you accept after a delay in the same browser tab, the page you first arrived on is still used, so an advert you clicked before deciding is credited correctly.
None of this follows you across the web, and none of it is used to build an advertising profile about you.
Your choice
When you first arrive you can accept or decline non-essential cookies. Your choice is remembered, so the notice does not appear again. Accepting turns caller source tracking on. Declining, or simply not choosing, keeps it off. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, described below. That removes your decision, so tracking stops and the notice appears again until you choose once more.
Services used by this site
- Google serves the typefaces used on these pages. Google may log the request that loads them.
- Explainer videos on the Learning Center and some coverage pages are played from YouTube. YouTube sets its own cookies once you press play, and those are governed by Google, not by us.
- Links to LinkedIn and to your phone app leave this site. What happens after that is governed by those services.
Nothing above is required to read this site or to call the office.
Clearing what is stored
To remove everything listed here, clear site data or cookies for this website in your browser settings, or use private browsing. Your accessibility choices and your cookie decision are removed with it, caller source tracking stops as soon as your decision is gone, and the notice appears again on your next visit.
Changes
If what we store changes, this page is updated here. The date at the bottom shows when it last changed.
